I’m Tariq Ashkanani, an award-winning Scottish crime author. My first novel, Welcome to Cooper, was released back in 2021 and won the Bloody Scotland Debut Award. It was also nominated for the Capital Crime Fingerprint Award and the CWA New Blood Dagger.

The Cooper-verse continued in my second novel, Follow Me to the Edge.

My latest novel is The Midnight King, which picked up the McIlvanney Award for best Scottish crime book of the year at Bloody Scotland.

When I’m not writing, I’m working the day job as a solicitor or recording the Page One Podcast, where we interview writers of all kinds and dive into their journey to publication. Give it a listen!
